Gareth Bale refused to celebrate after scoring winning penalty in Levante v Real Madrid
Gareth Bale's struggles this season have been well documented.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure last summer, it was hoped Bale would fill the void left by the Portuguese's exit.
But the Welshman has had arguably his worst season for Los Blancos yet.
He was on the bench once again for Real Madrid's La Liga game against Levante.
However, after coming on in the 74rd minute, he turned out to be the hero.
With the game tied at 1-1, Los Blancos were given a penalty in controversial circumstances when Casmeiro went down under a challenge from Cheick Doukoure.
Bale had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes but he was given the responsibility to put his side in the lead.
And he did so in style, cooly rolling the ball into the back of the net.
You would expect Bale to be delighted with his goal, which came at a vital point and ended up giving his side all three points.
But Bale reacted by refusing to celebrate.
Lucas Vazquez tried to congratulate him but Bale shrugged him off as he trudged towards his own half.
Bale did acknowledge praise from his teammates on his way back to the half-way line but his behaviour was still very strange.
Santiago Solari was asked after the game about Bale's behaviour, but he seemed unconcerned.
"Bale can celebrate goals however he wants, if we win," Solari said, per Dermot Corrigan.
Not everyone connected with Real Madrid was happy with his actions, though.
Speaking on Cadena Ser, per AS, Former Madrid striker Predrag Mijatovic branded Bale's actions 'disgraceful'.
He added: "You don't get the feeling that he's properly annoyed, though; I'd like to see him really angry at not playing, and showing Solari that he's desperate to be able to play..."
