AJAX defender Matthijs de Ligt has dropped a major hint he would like to join Liverpool in the future.

The 19-year-old is the latest star off the conveyor belt at the Amsterdam club.
De Ligt has created a stir across Europe
La Liga duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelonahave been heavily linked with a move for the Netherlands international, as a result of his emergence.
SunSport understand Arsenal will also launch a bid for the teenager, who was part of the Ajax side which knocked Real Madrid out of the Champions League.

But Liverpool could yet be De Ligt’s destination, if the player has any say on on the matter.

De Ligt has learned much from international compatriot Virgil van Dijk and would be eager to operate alongside the titanic Reds captain at club level to continue his education.
Van Dijk is regarded as one of the world’s best defenders
He told Omnisport: “Virgil is a player who has experience in the top leagues. Of course you want to learn from him.
“It’s very helpful to play next to him in the Dutch team.
“It could happen [joining him at Liverpool]. He plays for Liverpool. A good club, but I’m not focused on them.
“I focus on Ajax, and then I will see where I will end up.”
