Frenkie de Jong was a very happy man after helping Ajax knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League on Tuesday. He told NOS: “I think Barcelona is very happy that we have thrown Real out! But of course I am especially happy for Ajax and the fans. Everything fell good for us tonight. Yes, also for me. I played pretty well, but I almost made it exciting at the end. I should not have lost the ball in that area but I had cramp in both legs.”

Barcelona play Girona on Wednesday in the Catalan Super Cup at the the Nova Creu Alta, Sabadell. The match is between the top two teams in the country, with Girona having finished about Espanyol in the rankings to take their place against Barcelona.
Jean-Clair Todibo is set to make his Barcelona debut after being named in the squad for the Supercopa de Catalunya. The youngster is part of a experimental 19-man squad for the game against Girona.
